Shanoor Seervai is an International Relations concentrator at Brown University. As a concentrator in the “Politics Culture and Identity” track, she is particularly interested in bringing anthropological and historical approaches into political science perspectives on international relations. Her senior thesis explains the persistence and decline of separatist movements over time by focusing on institutional development in federal states. Shanoor’s research draws on two case studies within India. Her research interests include social movements, democracy and democratization, and conflict.
